How long will it take to complete an Online Course?
Each online course takes approximately 100 hours to complete. If you work on your course for 1 hour per day, 5 days a week, it will take approx. 5 months to complete. The courses follow the curriculum set out by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.
How much does it cost to take a course with edcentre.ca?
There are three types of fees: no fees, $30 Adult Registration Fee for Northern Saskatchewan Adult residents, or a $500 Tuition Fee per course for Southern Saskatchewan residents or students who are in a school other than a Northern Lights School Division school. Find out more in the School Handbook.
Can I start an Online Course today?
edcentre.ca takes students continuously through the school year until the end of March in each school year. This deadline is for new applications and for existing students to request their next course(s). You will be able to begin your Online Program as soon as you receive a Welcome Email with all the information you need to get started.
What happens after I send in my application?
You should hear from us by phone or email within a few days of receiving your application to either gather more information from you or to give you your login information by email. If you do not hear from us please contact us as soon as possible.
How many courses can I take at one time?
Our school policy is for students to take one course at a time. Once you have completed one course with us successfully, you can request to take two classes at a time, if your schedule permits it. Contact your Instructor or the School Secretary to ask for your next online course.
How can I contact my Instructor?
You can call the office and be put through to your Instructor, send an email, send a message in the Online Course area (called My Messenger), meet your Instructor in their Live Online Connect Room, or if you are in the area, drop by our office, which is located in the Northern Lights School Division Central Office (downtown, La Ronge).
